The hype continues to build for Jay-Z and his forthcoming album, 4:44. Now Mr. HOV is dropping hints that, instead of a summer tour, he’s waiting for the fall to start his highly anticipated tour.
With the 4:44 project scheduled to drop next Friday, June 30th through TIDAL, fans have been eagerly awaiting any news out of J’s camp. He’s already dominated the summer’s news without dropping a single track, and with the forthcoming album, the hype is sure to increase.
According to Page Six, Jay originally planned on going on a summer tour to promote the album, but has now decided to wait until the fall. According to a source that spoke to Page Six, a tour would follow the album dropping, but, “(it) has been moved to fall because of the kids.”
Jay-Z and Beyoncé recently welcomed twins into their family, but the birth reportedly came earlier than expected. He has also had a busy month — that might explain pushing the tour back. He was recently inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, plus Roc Nation clients Kevin Durant, and Andre Ward have been in the news lately.
While it’s usual to tour within a month of dropping an album, Jay-Z has proved himself a hype-beast without dropping a single track or public appearance. Signs advertising 4:44 have popped up all over NYC. Clearly HOV doesn’t need an immediate tour.
